Introduction: To get us thinking about the life of a refugee, click the link below and walk yourself through the simulation. You will be given small bits of informaiton and asked to make decisions from the perspective of a displaced person or a refugee.
The Assignment: Using the abundance of resources below, you will create a fictional story about the life of a refugee, or a family of refugees. Your story should capture the struggles of the refugee as well as their determination to find a better life. Although your story will take on a life of its own, please include the following:
- Where are you from and why are you fleeing your home?
- How was your journey?
- Where did you go?
- what route did you take?
- what did you experience along the way?
- What was life in the refugee camp like?
- Where was the camp?
- What is it like in the camp?
- What are the struggles and hardships?
- What are the good parts, if any?
- What was the status of food and water?
- what did you do?
- What is your goal, or hope, for the future?
